Our approach is straightforward: we introduce students to the world of fingerboarding, show them how to do basic tricks through small actionable steps, and provide a path forward towards infinite progression! Your Coaches
After growing up with a passion for skateboarding, Trevor started the Torrance Skateboard Camp in 2006 while attending college, at which point his interest in working with youth quickly blossomed into his calling. Following a few years of honing the craft of conducting kids camps, he then founded Champ Camp in 2012, a group of kids beach, skate, and play programs based in Southern California. Trevor resides in Los Angeles with his wife Ali and their son Odin, and greatly enjoyed functioning in a support role for Coach Timmy in the development of Fingerboard 101.
A SoCal native, Coach Tim met Trevor playing AYSO soccer around age 12. Their love of similar music and skateboarding grew their friendship instantly. Prior to joining the Champ Camp family, Tim pursued a career in music as a touring stage manager and drum technician. Through various tours, he was able to venture all over Europe and Canada multiple times and has even been to 48 of the 50 states. Since joining the crew in 2014, Tim has been Trevor’s right-hand man, ready to tackle any challenge ahead. From aiding the growth of multiple beach camp locations to helping work through the kinks of an after school program and helping kids roll around at skate camp, his Champ Camp knowledge is very well-rounded. Tim's been fingerboarding for most of his life, and has even competed in local contests! Needless to say, he is STOKED to share his love and passion for fingerboarding with the world.
